"We couldn't be happier with the work carried out by Brown Construction! We had a single storey rear extension planned and had various quotes from different companies, but after a lot of meetings, we decided to go with Browns as their quality of work was exactly what we were after. This was our first time undergoing a project like this so we found it quite daunting at first. After having an initial meeting with Adam (owner), we were then introduced to our project manager James who took us through all the work that needed to be carried out along with schedules and costs. This made us feel more reassured by their whole approach and process to the project. Big thanks to the team, Raoul, Simon, Jamie, Martin, Florin, Petru and of course the other contractors that were called in (all whom have worked with Browns for years now). They all did an amazing job. They took great care and pride in their work (tidying and cleaning up after every day) and it shows. Attention to detail is second to none. Everyone was really friendly and nice to have around for the duration of 4 months. Also a big thanks to Hayley and Kayleigh in the office who kept us informed of everything as the project went along. Always responding to our emails/messages :) We can honestly say that we did not expect everything to run so smoothly! We’ve had friends tell us horror stories about delays, bad timings etc James did an amazing job organising the whole project and keeping everything on track for us. Everything was literally bang on time and on budget as per quote and schedule! Anything that came up that wasn't initially quoted would be briefed to us before further work was carried out. Maybe we were one of the lucky ones, but judging from the way Brown Construction conduct themselves and the great team they have, we're pretty sure their other clients are just as happy. "Browns impressed us from the start with their professionalism, transparency and portfolio of work. They were recommended by two sets of friends, and in addition, we met two of their existing clients independently before we started. Adam Brown also gave us very helpful tours of their existing projects which opened our eyes to further options and trends and the way they work. He was supportive throughout. We demolished and rebuilt our whole house, which did take longer and cost more than we planned, but as complete novices, we were developing our designs and adding additional features as the project went on. It is a stressful time for all and we were not without hiccups and delays, but Martin Brown was particularly helpful, and his common sense approach and solutions were always great and he was a huge comfort throughout. Kayleigh in the office was always helpful and all the tradespeople seemed lovely and took pride in their work. Rebuilding your house is not for the fainthearted, or the shallow of pocket, but we are delighted with the result even two years on, and last week some school children were sketching our house from the outside!! "We have had an absolute pleasure working with the Browns team over the last 12-18 months on a large double extension to our house and updating of all the other rooms in the house, gutting of existing rooms etc. The following aspects completely sets them apart from other construction firms we have come across directly or anecdotally through friends and family: 1. Office based team which is separate to the on-site team and therefore communication is prompt, clear and efficient. 2. Documentation, project updates all via email and very clearly communicated by the office based team. 3. Invoicing and Finance handled by the office based team, so again separate, clear and avoids any potential conflict or awkwardness with the on-site team. 4. Dedicated WhatsApp group was set-up on Day 1 with the office based team, site manager and site team leader. 5. Super responsive on the WhatsApp group (even helped me out of hours in the evening with my fuse box in the garage blowing which had nothing to do with the building work and Aaron video called me to talk me through how to fix it at 8pm at night). 6. They turned up every single day, by 7.30am my drive was full of Browns vans. 7. They worked super hard and super efficient. 8. They cleaned up and hoovered and kept the place tidy every single day. 9. Every unexpected issue (which are inevitable) was dealt with professionally and efficiently. 10. We were issued with very clear "variations" of works with costs to review and approve before any changes were made or invoiced. 11. We were given honest and cost-effective advice. 12. We had a very specific issue crop up in relation to the glazing company and the Browns team was on our side and worked with us as a team.
